All About the Dough empowers youth to to break the cycle of inequity and create new generational wealth.
It’s All About the Dough encourages participants to take the professional skills they develop through our bakery training program and channel them into entrepreneurship. Through work-based learning, business development classes, and community-building experiences, participants are provided with the knowledge and resources they need to develop and launch their own businesses.
We strive to put young people in a position to control their future, providing necessary resources, tangible skills, and powerful opportunities for participants to reclaim a legacy of self-sufficiency. Through It's All About the Dough, youths are empowered to break the cycle of inequity and create new generational wealth, building a new paradigm of success.
Through work-based learning and community-building experiences, our primary focus is education in a specialized, marketable skill: baking. We create a pipeline to job preparedness and prospects participants may have never considered otherwise, specifically entrepreneurship.
Our program is designed for young males of color, ages 13-16, from underserved communities within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area.
We strive to develop independent, resilient, and productive community members and place them on a path to economic freedom for themselves and those around them.
